Geocache Description:

No Fences need to be crossed to find this cache and please watch where you drive as there is private property on several sides of this cache location.

The South Central Agricultural Laboratory Research Farm is located East just across the fence from this cache. This is one of 12 University of Nebraska Research Facilities throughout Nebraska. The primary focus of this facility is the development and refinement of irrigated crop production practices for Nebraska agriculture. For more than 100 years the Agricultural Research Division at the University of Nebraska Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources has been a pioneer exploring possibilities and advancing scientific frontiers. The Agricultural Research Division (ARD) is the only public entity in Nebraska charged with conducting agricultural research. It is part of a national network of state agricultural experiment stations at Land Grant Universities across the United States. It would be impossible to list all the specific research projects at the 12 facilities, the projects do range from developing new crop varieties to improving turf and flowers for urban and rural gardens, and from a quality water supply to quality of life for all Nebraskans.
