Geocache Description:

AUGUST 23, 2013 UPDATE. STILLWATER HOA PUT UP A NO TRESPASSING SIGN> RIVER CACHE ONLY FOR THE TIME BEING.

One of the other score keepers at my daughter's water polo games lives west of here in Stillwater. She said there were some benches around some lakes and a trail to the Little Econ River. So today I went looking.

I walked down the Power line path to the river. That was easy enough but from there I headed south. There was no trail. The palmettos kept getting thicker but I was looking for a tree to hide a cache near. Then I stumbled upon this relic. It hasn't been disturbed in a long time. Most sane people would never bushwack to this point. There's no trash or grafitti or any sign that anyone has been here for years. I looked for a good long time to find a place to put a bigger cache like an ammo can. I'm afraid if this area gets discovered the first thing to go would be a large cache so I settled for something smaller. There was plenty of other places to hide a cache but I wanted it on the car.

Come prepared. I didn't and have plenty of scratches to show for it. There were also two ticks on me. I thought I was going to a little community park and wore shorts. Jeans and boots are highly recommended. Unless you are proud of your geocaching scars like I am. The last 150 feet is thick with palmettos, vines, and caesar weeds. The domain of the geocacher.

March 29,2007: I went out today to put an FTF prize($1.00) in the cache since the other two caches of mine nearby were found. I thought the same person would find all three but it didn't turn out that way. I couldn't find the way that I went in last time. It seems no matter which way you go in it's thick. GPSr reception is skittish sometimes due to tree cover. I got about thirty feet from the cache and it said it was 85 feet away. Then at the cache it said 10 feet. Tree cover at the cache is very heavy but it's hard to miss the Plymouth.

I put a different container that I found yesterday in my shed. It's cammo is better suited to the hiding spot. It is bigger and holds small items. The log is in a prescription bottle and has some coins inside for trade. It's only about two feet from where it was so the old clue still works. You will still need to bring a pen.

The Christine in the book was a 58 Plymouth. This is her older cousin.
