Geocache Description:

Pretty Rock

During the Civil War most of the citizens were in sympathy with the Confederacy. The community was often overrun by the Federals, and the citizens sometimes suffered because their provisions were taken by scouting parties of both armies. In 1864, the Baker Farm on nearby Martin Creek was the scene of a Civil War battle in which the Confederate troops were victorious and drove the Federals back to their encampment near Batesville.
