Geocache Description:

In 1880, this monument was erected by The Soldiers Aid Society. It is a large Monument To the Defenders of the Union.The Soldiers and Sailors of the Union sit in repose on this edifice to the Grand Union of the Republic. It is an imposing sight to see. Contemplate those bygone days for a moment. They saved the Union with their sacrifice.
