This is the very first (of hopefully many) caches located in my
hometown of Schreiber, Ontario.
Schreiber has a rich heritage as a railway town in Northwestern
Ontario. The Canadian Pacific Railway built this town as a crew
change / service point when laying track through the nearly
inpenetrable Canadian Shield. Although Schreiber remains a CP crew
change point, the railway has centralized its dispatching and
maintenance operations in other major centres.
This cache is designed to draw travelling geocachers into the
wonderful heritage that is Schreiber. You will find the cache
located near a soon-to-be-completed museum and heritage centre.
Please feel free to visit!!!
Cache is a 800ml lock-and-lock containing a logbook, pencils,
FTF and trading items. The Schreiber Heritage Committee has
graciously provided several items. Please feel free to take one
with no obligation to trade.
NOTE:
The cache and Heritage Museum are located adjacent to a
working railway yard. AT NO TIME
is there any need to cross any tracks or venture into the yards to
retrieve the cache.
