Geocache Description:

*** Congrats to Ranger Fox for FTF honors! ***

Small for this kind of cache size. Tupperware like container originally, replaced with an ammox box, last replaced with a lock n lock plastic ware. On an island. Walking distance *was* way less than a third of a mile from where you *used to be able to* park.

I have decided to place my very first official cache in an interesting little area North of B-town. I think you will enjoy this daytime cache and location.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LEAVE THE TRAIL UNTIL YOU HAVE REACHED THE ISLAND! This is one of those "real world" caches with "real world dangers". In other words, be careful not to fall in the water 30 feet below.

This is located on a small man made island. The terrain is relatively easy, however, there is a bridge that must be crossed to reach the island. The bridge is very sturdy, however, ORIGINALLY ONLY HAD ONE NARROW HIGH HANDRAIL on each side. Youngsters may enjoy this area, however PLEASE be careful at the bridge! I increased the terrain rating to account for this.
UPDATE: BRIDGE HAS BEEN ENHANCED AND IS MORE SAFE THAN IT WAS PREVIOUSLY!

ALSO, the proprietor of this land asked/mentioned a few things for this cache. Please respect these requests:
1. Please do not attempt to find this at night. The neighbors nearby do not like visitors at night (when they can't be seen), nor do they appreciate late night secret meetings (I kid you not!). Plus, it could be kind of dangerous at night for some. UPDATE: Park hours are now posted, but typically coincide with dawn/dusk.
2. This land is on track to becoming a park (soon to be turned over to the nearby municipality). The cache may become temporarily unavailable if and when they start that official process. Since the park has not been officially created, I decided to name the island first. Don't be surprised if the park is actually called something else in the future.
3. Though not mentioned, this area could use a little TLC with some CITO.
4. Parking is available near where an old bridge was rusting away on land at the end of a road (the bridge has been removed!). UPDATE: Close parking is for handicapped only now. New parking is at the new official park entrance on Greenwood Dr. It's a short walk from this point, but please follow the trail to the island. Beware too there may be a road on your map that doesn't exist any more...
UPDATE: There is ample parking now located on Greenwood Dr.

There used to be a benchmark here; I found "the bolt" and one of two aluminum reference tags, but not the benchmark. See spoiler for it's reference ID if you want to look for it. You may want to "look" for it first to find the bridge to the island...

Container is a spore from the BEENTHERE309's SOUTH OF THE BORDER SPORE CACHE (archived GCWX27). Thanks to BEENTHERE309 for well stocking this little container too (8x8x3"?). There was even a FTF certificate in it and a SAMPLE (non-trackable) geo-coin for FTL prize (since the FTF missed it).

Be safe!
