Geocache Description:

Beavers live near rivers, streams, ponds, small lakes and marshes. The beaver has webbed hind feet and a large, flat, nearly hairless tail. It uses its tail to help maintain its balance when it is gnawing on trees. It will also slap its tail against the water to signal danger or to warn away predators. You may hear some slapping against the water, which sounds much like a “Belly flop”. If you wish to learn more about Beavers and their activity, go to www.beaversww.org.

We replaced this cache in the early summer and this area became very Marsh like, so we upped the terrain.

Cache has our typical swag so, Please Trade Even.

Please do not leave garbage for other cachers.

"In 2015, the Forest Preserve District will be celebrating our 100th Anniversary. We are currently celebrating the 100th Anniversary with a Geocaching Extravaganza by featuring new and existing caches around the county. Each of these caches will contain a unique sticker and/or a passport booklet from the Forest Preserve District. Geocachers will find these caches, and place one sticker from the cache into their passport. Once they collect five of the eight caches, they can turn their book in at Fullersburg Woods for a prize which will be a Forest Preserve District Geocoin . We plan on featuring new and current caches each year, which will lead to new coins until the 100th Anniversary in 2015."
