Geocache Description:

A drive up cache in the Cypress Hills, located by a beautifully restored historic church.

We made our first ever trip to the Cypress Hills and came across this restored church near Eagle Butte. We don't really know how we got there or what road we took out, but it was fantastic scenery as I'm sure all the roads are.
The church was dedicated in 1908 and lovingly restored and renovated by volunteers in 1992. Apparently it's open all year round for visitors to come and see. It's well worth the trip to see this church and the surrounding area. There are a few church services held here throughout the year so you might want to check out the website (visit link) to ensure you don't show up when the church is in use. Though I'm sure you would be welcome to attend any services.
From the church we saw deer roaming the hills; wild eagles (well, anyway we think they were eagles); Rocky Mountain Bluebirds (check out the nests on the fence posts along the main road) and not far away - Turkey Buzzards. Also saw other birds nearby that we have never seen before.
To find this micro it is not necessary to enter the church yard. Once you find it please study it carefully and put it back exactly as found; there is a small string attached which hooks onto a handy hook.
Please treat the area with the respect it deserves and enjoy the fantastic scenery. The cache is being maintained by the fellow who lives just past the church.
Wheelchair accessable, except perhaps in winter. Latest info shows that the cache has moved a bit to the east of the coords.
