Geocache Description:

The 81st cache by caughtatwork takes you to the site of Works of Science.

Pull it, push it, spin it, bang it. Through hands-on exhibits, live demonstrations, tours, activities and shows, the whole family can have fun exploring the mysteries of science and technology at Scienceworks.

The cache is in a slightly out of the way location close to the entrance of the Scienceworks museum. Parking may be easy some days and quite difficult other days. You may be able to even park in front of the cache if you are lucky.

The cache you seek is around 1 litre in size, disguised to match the surroundings and contains a log book and pen as well as the usual assortment of swaps.

Be aware that you will be searching very close to cars, albeit very stationary cars, so watch the kids and try not to look like you're trying to break in to any of the cars.

You should be out of sight enough not to draw any suspicion.

When you are done, take a quick trip down Booker street and up Douglas Parade and you can see the magnificent entrance to the Spotswood Pumping Station which was was built in the late nineteenth century as a key component of Melbourne's first centralised sewerage system. Today it is one of Australia's most important industrial heritage sites. The buildings and their contents were classified by the National Trust of Australia in 1981 and are listed on both the Victorian and National Heritage Registers.
