One for the Kids Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Shepparton is renowned for many things, and the future is in our younger generations. It’s good to see a number of special facilities being developed in this area for their enjoyment and learning.

Our first cache is a multi that will take you to a couple of the best in the area, developed by strong community spirit and support.

The final cache is a camouflaged one litre sistema container, and in keeping with the theme, please keep swaps to special items for the kids. The difficulty rating reflects the high degree of muggle activity here at most times. Please take care to replace the cache in its camouflaged condition to prevent accidental discovery by one of the young guests at this place.

At the posted co-ordinates you will be in a special place designed and built to cater for all kids, including those less fortunate than the majority of us. You will be in front of a sign explaining some of the precautions that must now be taken into account when building such facilities.

As you came into this place, you will have noticed the number of special car parking places (A), and as you stand on this spot and look north you will see tank number B. In front of you the sign is on a structure made from wood and steel; the total number of pieces of wood used to build this structure is CD and the number of steel posts supporting it is E.

Waypoint 2 is a little over a kilometre away.

We expect that most people will opt to travel there by car which will take a few minutes, but if you have time, we suggest that you enjoy the walk on the good bitumen path which makes its way through the forest (about 20 minutes each way) or take the whole clan on a bike ride on the same path. We also strongly recommend that you stick to the path and you’ll get there – follow your GPS too closely, and be prepared to bush-bash!

WP 2 is to be found at: S 36 EB.11E; E 145 EE.D(C+C)(A-B)

At this place you will probably be surrounded by muggles of all ages enjoying themselves in a wonderful place which is unique in Australia as a facility built by volunteers for the community to enjoy. Entry is free, but a small donation or purchase from the kiosk will help this place to continue to grow.

You should be standing by a magnificent example of its type for junior muggle enjoyment, in front of a sign acknowledging one of the sponsors of this facility.

The number of times the letter “O” appears on the sign is FG.

The cache is located not far away at:

S 36 (C+C)(F+G).(G-E)DB E 145 G(F+C).DEB

You won’t be able to take the most direct route to the treasure, don’t follow your GPS – use your instinct, and there’s no need to climb any fences!

Please use great stealth as you approach and retrieve the cache as absolute descretion is required. The first cache was muggled after only a few days due to the nature of the guests at this place!!

Be warned that it gets very busy here on weekends, school holidays and special occasions, but please take some time while you’re here to enjoy this place, especially if you have some younger geocachers in tow. It’s a great place for a family picnic. Enjoy !
