Geocache Description:

A mystery offset cache, but no fabulous treasure. 


There is nothing at the published coordinates, but the final cache is within a mile.

First solve the puzzle below to discover a clue location.  The signal here is poor, but the target should be obvious. 

At the clue location you will find an offset in visual form. Use this offset and your mathematical skills to adjust the published coordinates above and find the cache. This is a small clip-lock box.

NB: the footpath shown on older maps no longer runs along the drive to the house but has been diverted across the field from the clue location. It rejoins the original route north of the house.

Incidentally, the validity of the second part of the cache problem is doubted by some scholars, but as geocachers, do we really care about historical accuracy if we get a fun puzzle?
