Geocache Description:

A 'Be Like Rogheff' seed cache. Watch for barbed wire, exposed or buried, in the area and on the approach to this cache.

JD always was a bright boy. He was born and grew up while personal computers were starting to get popular. When he was young, his father had some old computers, a TRASH-80 and a VIC-20. JD really enjoyed using them.

As JD got older, computers got more powerful, and his love of computers grew, and eventually became an obsession. He spent a lot of his time and money on computer parts and accessories, he learned networking and computer repairs. When using e-mail, chat rooms and user groups, his screen name was Dracosilver, Draconis, and later, because it was faster and shorter, Drac. Everybody he knew on-line or in person became part of his computer aquisition network.

This worked out well for everybody that knew JD. Anybody that needed anything, parts, repairs, or any add-ons, was in luck. He was a repairman, an upgrade specialist, and tech support all-in-one.

Wonder where this 'Yarn' is going? Here comes the twist:

JD's abilities with computers came with problems. Any old hardware that he could get ahold of, he would keep and store away. PCs, hard drives, CD-Rom drives, expansion cards, keyboards and mice. Everything was saved, everything was kept, everthing was piled up. His bedroom was a stack atop a pile, the basement was a maze of PCs, keyboards and monitors. A mess.

Ocasionally, late at night, while in bed, his parents would hear a 'OH SH*T, OH H*LL', when a crash came and one of his piles collapsed. This was almost a nightly occurrance.

Then came that one night. There was a large crash, followed by a string of cussing, and then nothing. Same old, same old, his parents thought and just went to sleep.

The next morning told the tale. JD had gotten caught under a large cascade of pcs, a monitor and lots of cds and floppy disks. Unable to move he had spent the entire night trapped underneath.

Traumatized by the experience, he was never the same. All the computer equipment had to go.

Now, if you meet J. D. Herd out and about, DO NOT mention computers. The mere mention might cause his eyes to glaze over, he might go fetal, he might try to get away. But the one thing you would always hear would be JD mumbling "Drac does not compute, Drac does not compute".

Un-Rogheff-esque helpful hint: If you have done "Country Seclusion' or 'Cache To Eagle: A Scout Is Loyal', you know how to get 1/2 way there.
