How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Do not go to the posted coordinates! They are not for the cache! The coordinates for the cache will be sent to the first person to visit all of the caches needed, that person will be given a 24 hour head start as the final cache is located in Nashua, after that it will be first come first serve.

Here is a "new" twist on an old cache idea. I am not sure if this has been done, I came up with the idea while doing a few virtual caches in North Conway a few weekends ago.

I wish we were still allowed to place virtual caches as I think there are some cool places to explore where caches might not be allowed. I know about waymarking, but I don't like it like the same as I like caching.

This challenge cache will bring you to the 15 pages of the New Hampshire Atlas & Gazetteer from Delorme which have either a Virtual, an Earthcache or a Web-Cam cache on it.

I have listed the map pages below which are all the maps that contain at least one of the types of caches listed (Virtual, Earth or Web-Cam cache) in the challenge to make things a little easier for you to find. A few pages have more than one cache and one cache type on them, you are free to find them all, but you only need to log one cache per page and you can decide which type in the event there is more than one.

There is one cache, the UNH Webcam which is on the border of maps 29 and 30, since 30 already has 2 caches I decided to use map 29 for the challenge.

Due to map 44 having two very difficult caches I have listed this as a 5 star terrain cache. Please remember that on the Mt Washington Webcam cache you have to post a picture of you on the WEBCAM! Cell phone pics, ECT. do not count and your log will be deleted. That is how the owner set it up, so please respect their wishes.

Any prior finds will be counted, unless of course you are against prefinds, if that is the case please revisit all of the caches, hahahaha Sorry, could not resist poking the Bee Hive a little!

As more earth caches are added they will be allowed, though they could add more pages to the challenge. Cache owners are allowed to use their own caches for the challenge.

Please send me an email with the map number, cache name, and date of find. Since there are only 15 caches listed that will be the easiest system to use.

If you are a member of a caching team, or if your Geocaching screen name has changed please send me the name that the visit was logged under along with the date, ect.

Here are the Map pages that you will need to visit to
complete this challenge:

Once you sign the log for this cache you will be allowed to log it as having found the cache. There is a Green Jeep Travel Bug for each of the first three finders.

Please be aware that completion emails will be answered in the order received. I will give a 24 hour head start to the first person who emails me that they are completed with the challenge. FTF will be based on the first person to physically sign the cache log, not the first person or persons to complete the challenge.

I will do my best to send the coordinates in a timely fashion. Of course life outside of Geocaching does sometimes interfere with important things like Geocaching, so if you have emailed me and it has been a few days please have patience.

Feel free to post questions, comments or progress to the cache page. As with anything this cache could be subject to change based on lessons learned and input from other cachers.

Most of all, this is a game based on Tupperware and MacDonald's toys please take a minute to remind yourself of that if you feel yourself taking it too seriously!

Thanks to Brad, aka gpsfun for his insight and steering me down the right path in designing this cache page.

Congrats to rjb43nh on the FTF!
