Geocache Description:

Not too long a hike to find this cache which is located in a pleasant location near the lodge.

The nothern reaches of the Peak District, though bleak, offer lonely views and grand surprises. This place has a quiet wild beauty.

The route follows Ewden Beck, which is a imposing valley complete with self-set rhododendrons for the inital part of the hike. These eventually thin out and the walk continues as the valley becomes slightly narrower. Extensive views are not in short supply.

Once you reach the final location, take time to listen to the sounds of nature and bask in the solitude. Take care at the cache location.

Your return journey could continue along the track, cross Broomhead Moor by Rushy Dike until you reach Dukes Road (path) and proceed towards Mortimer Road.
