Gold was discovered in 1824 in Aruba; mining continued until
1916 with smelters located here in Bushiribana and Balashi yielding
3,000 pounds of this valuable ore.
The remains of a gold smelter was built of natural stone. The
ruins are interesting for their historical value, but the site has
no guides or explanatory material.

This cache has been placed with my friend Lucie that has been
initiated to geocaching during our holidays in Aruba on mach 2007.
It is the 15th cache on Aruba.
The cache container is covered of camo tape. At first was
containing 2 TB, a CITO, a dinosaur, a smurf, a Quebec (Canada)
geocachers print and a magnifying glass. Please make sure is not
visible from the muggles. Bring your pen to sign the log book.
Thanks!

Small note on cache maintenance: Jomosoft has
offered to assist with maintenance. Thanks!
