Follow the trail until you reach a “sweet spot.” An interpretive booklet available at the trailhead points out natural features along the trail. This easy trail requires less than an hour to complete at a leisurely pace. Be sure to come visit this area again in early spring when the sap flows. You might even get a taste of nature. The cache is in a medium-sized storage container.
When finished geocaching, take a peek into the Montour Environmental Preserve’s Visitors Center/Environmental Education Center. Inside you can view mounted birds of prey, the Lake Chillisquaque fish and wildlife exhibit, local fossils, reptiles of Pennsylvania, a “discovery corner” and local history displays. Look for songbirds at the feeding station outside the observation windows.
