Northwest River Park is located on Indian Creek
Road; about 3 1/2 miles east of Battlefield Blvd. in the
southeastern section of the city. It was developed as a natural
recreation area incorporating camping, an extensive trail system,
picnic shelters, play areas, an equestrian area for horse owners,
fishing, miniature golf, the Marjorie Rein Memorial Walkway, and
plenty of open areas. Boats and canoes are available for rental in
the camp store. A fragrance garden, for the visually impaired, and
a classroom building are located at the north end. The lake
stretches almost to the southern activity area which is on the
banks of the Northwest River.

How can you help??? Here
are a few suggestions:
Here is a list of what people
have committed to bringing so far:
For those of you who have volunteered to bring “something,” flxble
will be sending you an e-mail requesting that you bring a specific
item so that we can ensure there will be enough of everything for
everyone!
Please post a note (not a find yet) to
let us know you will be attending, how many in your group,
and what you will be bringing. Put this listing on your
watchlist, as we will continue to update it
regularly.
Camping/Lodging
information:
It is Labor Day Weekend!
We will have reserved 25 (10 additional sites!) camping
sites at Norhtwest River Park and all but a few are spoken for. If
you would like to secure a site for Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday
night please contact Penguincacher. Campsites are
first come first serve. All sites are full service and will
accommodate either a camper, a pop-up, or two tents. All sites have
a maximum of 5 people or 1 family per site. Cost is $25.00 per
night.
Hotel information is being gathered by Chesapeake Convention and
Visitor's Bureau, but so far the prices have come back rather high.
I'm still working on this to try to get a reasonable rate for
anyone who would like to stay in a hotel.
Some door prizes have been
donated or discounted by the following:
Backcountry, Woolrich, Jeep, GSAK, Crake Productions, Groundspeak,
Geocoin Club, Garmin, Wild River Outfitters, Coins and
