Remains of an ancient oil press in the Gilboa Mountains
We were out walking among the rocks, looking at the lovely Spring wild flowers and suddenly realized that the boulders we were looking at were part of an ancient oil press. You can even see the hole in the rock that the donkey/horse was attached to as he pushed around the rock to press the olives. (see photos)
You can park your car at the beginning of the the dirt road (for 4x4s) that goes to Mt. Giborim from the main road on the Gilboa. (a few km West of the Gilboa Iris reserve.)

From here it is only a few minutes walk to the site.
There are several routes to walk up - some more steep than others.
