Geocache Description:

In the ruins right outside the forest South of Elad, close to the Israel National Trail (Shvil Yisrael)

This is not an easy one to find. The terrain is difficult and we forgot to bring a camera. There is a hint in this description that you will only be able to understand when you are in the area.

The cache contains:
Log book and pen
3d puzzle
wooden nickle
*** geocoin brought to Israel from visiting geocacher zachjones

Wear long pants as there is much undergrown and probably thorns in the summer. Also be careful of loose rocks.

You can drive by car to the forest just South of the Religious Community of Elad on Road 444 (South Of Rosh Ayin)

The turn-off to the forest is marked by a sign to the "Mausoleum". Continue driving south, parallel to the main road and you will get to a picnic area. If you want to take a longer hike (4-5 km round trip) you can park here. If not you can continue driving the car along this dirt road.

If you want to find the cache on your own just with the coordinates stop reading here.
----
The road will veer left and at the top of the hill - by the fenced of water pump turn left and continue following the road. At this point you will be on the Israel National Trail (marked in orange, blue and white.)

Continue on this trail until you get to an unmarked trail exactly perpendicular to the East. (you can not continue further by car from this point. It is about 700 m to the cache from here.) Follow this trail down the hill to the edge of the forest at the East. You will see a hill - the El Katzar Ruins. Climb to the top and follow the directions:

From the summit of the hill, look to the East. (The town of Elad is to the North.) You will see the outline, remains of a building (house?) Look and imagine the four rooms that were once here. Look at the North/East room. Now look at the North West corner of this room where the boulders are largest. This is where you must search for the cache. Please proceed carefully as there are many loose rocks.
