Geocache Description:

Cache container is a .30cal Ammo Box. Lid of the container is a little stiff and requires some force to open, make sure nothing is caught in the seal of the box when you close it to stop the water getting in.

Please hide this cache well, if no sticks are covering the cacheplease take a minute or two to gather some and cover it as this area is a popular dog walking area and I don't want the cache found.

I have tried to make a good large cache, with plenty of swaps. The cache is about a mile walk from the recommended parking at the end of Ridgeway Road (N51 20.793 E001 08.435).

The cache is hidden in Crowdown Woods. From the recommended parking follow the bridle path over the metal horse gate. Keep following the bridle path around the edge of the fields, at the top of the hill (N51°20.806, E001°09.236) Turn right following the fence along the edge of the field (you need to be in front of the fence/hedge). Eventually you will find and entrance into the woods, keep going along the path to you reach the cache site.

On a clear day you can see over Herne Bay and out to sea. Look out for the wind turbines and the off shore Forts, On a very clear day you can even see Essex.

The caches history: The cache used to be in another area of woodland just over the hill called Beacon Woods. This wood was used as a 4x4 track for some times but public access had been allowed. As of 19/05/2007 the access seems to have been removed (see my log of same date), this may have been due to the fact that the wood was used as a 4x4 track and may have been potentially dangerous as the footpath that does cross the woods is now littered with warning signs. I have moved the cache to another wooded area nearby. I think it is Ok if people want to re-log this cache as the location has completely changed.
