Geocache Description:

This cache is located just outside the town of Gerlach, off of hwy 34. Easy two wheel drive car road to area of cache, then a short hike up a bit of a hill and over rocks.

This cache is named after the elementary school in Gerlach.
The third, fourth, and fifth graders made a video about the "old west vs. technology. How bank robbers hide their loot in this ravine and their kids go back years later and can't find it. Then a couple of kids try geocaching and decide to hide a cache. Then, with the use of a gps/technology the cache is easy to find by another group and they also find the loot of the bank robbery.
The cache is a standard ammo can, with standard loot. Because the kids helped place this there is not much imagination in hiding it, thus being a one difficulty. When judging the terrain level, it came out as a four, but I put it as a 2.5 as I didn't think it was that hard of a hike.
We will be putting out at least one more cache, to make the drive more worthwhile. There are other caches on the way out here, and you can bring a picnic lunch or have lunch at Bruno's (the only resteraunt out here ) or grab a sandwich at the store in Empire. (They make great sandwiches)
