Matukituki River Bridge Cache (Otago) Traditional Cache

This small cache is placed at the Matukituki River Bridge. We placed a small cache as this river can rise and flood the whole area. (See the abutments of washed out bridge) This river is fed by glaciers from Mount Aspiring National Park mountains and is one of New Zealand’s pristine jet boating and fishing rivers. The cache is on the West Wanaka road off the Wanaka Mt Aspiring road which is the road to the Treble Cone Ski Fields. Its a very pleasant drive pass Glendhu Bay on the shores of Lake Wanaka to the Matukituki River Bridge where the cache site is.
