The Eye is an inexhaustible fountain delivering approx 20 million litres of crystal clear water daily. It was dicovered by Samual Daniel during the Truter Somerville expedition in 1801.
The eye is the biggest natural fountain in the Southern hemisphere according to the available information.
The fish in the Eye are mostly Gold fish, Carp, Barber and Blue Carper populations. An endangered species of Cichlid fish, the Pseudocrenilabras Philander also made this wonder fountain their breeding ground.
The Eye was proclaimed a national monument on 17 September 1992.
