Geocache Description:

A small lock and lock container with a few trade items, log book
and pen.

A popular spot for Rock Climbing but for this cache you will not
need a harness and ropes. Because of the deep gorge here I am not
confident of co-ordinates given by my Garmin Geko 201 so a little
descriptive guidance is given in the hint below. However, if you
want the challenge, do not decipher the hint and enjoy the hunt. At
no time should you be at any risk, providing you are looking in the
right area. Once you have found the cache, signed the log and
traded any items you may want to make your way down to the gorge
bottom and follow the burn upstream to the waterfall. Care is
needed with foot placement here as all of the rocks and fallen
trees are heavily covered with moss, but it makes for an
interesting scramble to get to the top of the small waterfall.

Huntly’s Cave Grantown-on-Spey
The traditional hiding place of the
second Marquis of Huntly, Lord Lewis Gordon, when pursued by the
Earl of Argyll is about 3.5 miles from Grantown on the Forres road.
The cave, or what remains of it, is amid rugged crags on the steep
side of the glen. The Marquis married Mary Grant in 1644, sister of
James 7th Laird of Grant. She is supposed to have given him aid in
the cave while in hiding.
