Camping in the Pine Rivers Shires parks and other public places is strictly prohibited. However, Council did, for a long period of time, permit some camping, not in tents or vehicles, in Wylie Park at Petrie. This Park used to have camper vans, caravans or motor homes to stay in the park for a maximum period of 48 hours. Camping in vehicles or tents or other means was prohibited in Wylie Park. Wylie Park was well patronised by caravanners and motorhomes, and more recentl;y a growing number of tents. It seems that those using the facility, did not care enough for it and some abused the rules.
Herewith is the rub, Effective 21 Jan 08, All forms of overnight stay (including tents)is PROHIBITED. No more sleepovers around here anymore, but the cache remains. It should make it a bit easier to find. And I hope the Lions Club sausage sizzle caravan continues to visit.
Update: 11 October 2020. Significant works have been undertaken in this location, with a wildlife fence now cutting through the area. You can still gain access to this cache location, but a direct route will not suffice any more. Increasing Difficulty now 2 and Terrain is now 2.
