This cache is located off of the teal blazed "Highlands Trail" in the North Jersey District Water Supply Commission. The easiest access is via the red blazed Stonetown Circular Trail - park either at the Wanaque Reservoir Gate 17 or a little further down in the parking lot of the sports complex/park (both on Stonetown Road).
The site affords a beautiful vista and nice places for picnics. You will work to get there - the trail is mostly UP! Make sure you stop for picnic supplies before hiking - there are some plastic cups and a corkscrew in the cache in case you forget yours!
Note: There was some question as to the "No Trespassing" Sign. According to a rep from the NY/NJ Trail Conference who spoke with security from the water commission, this area is open to hikers, just stay on the trail. The signs were originally put in place after 9/11.
The cache is in an ammo can - if you are trying to move an 80 pound rock to get to it - don't. Look on the other side.
