RATAE SUDOKU Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Indiana - Croft: Went to the cache site today(24/04/24], and unfortunately did not find the cache. there was a lot of logs around and these could
have been put there by the Country park maintenance team for animals.
As this has been there for 10years, I have decided to archive as only 100 or so have been to it in that time.
Plus I did not find it either today.

THE CO-ORDS ARE NOT THE CACHE LOCATION BUT THE GENERAL AREA.
You will have to travel just over two miles in a `FJ` direction.

RATAE SUDOKU

We have done this puzzle cache based on one we did in Lincolnshire and we hope that you enjoy it.
The questions are all based on Leicestershire people and by solving these questions and putting the answers into a Sudoku Grid, and then solving the grid, you should have the numbers to do the calculations, to give you the cache co-ordinates.
There are no hints.

1. Draw a Sudoku Grid 9x9, lettered A-J ( missing out I to avoid confusion) from left to right and numbered 1-9 from top to bottom.

2. Insert the following into the squares.
A3 = 7 A5 = 3 C4 = 8 C7 = 1 C9 = 4 D2 = 8
D7 = 6 D9 = 2 E1 = 6 F3 = 3 F8 = 5
G1 = 5 G6 = 2 H4 = 6 J6 = 1 J7 = 8

3. Answer the Leicestershire Questions.
a. St. Mary de Castro Church was founded in which year? Add all
the digits and put into G3.
b. Simon de Montfort married Eleanor, daughter of King John. She
was a widow from a previous marriage but, at what age was she
widowed? Add the digits and put into J5.
c. Michael Kitchen played a role as Russel Clarke in a TV episode
of a popular series. What year was this? Add first and last digits
and put into G7.
d. How many matches did Gary Lineker play as England Captain?
Add all the digits and put into B6.
e. In what year was Rosemary Conley born.? Last digit minus third
digit put into C3.
f. Richard III was killed at the Battle of Bosworth but, how old was
he? Add digits together and put into A4.
g. What year did “Walkers” begin frying` potato chips`? Divide last
digit by two and put into F1.
h. In which year did Cardinal Wolsey die in Leicester? Add the
digits together and put into E9.

4. Now solve the Sudoku Puzzle

There are plenty of ways into the area and there is a Free car-park with a café, found fairly easy if you approach from the north.
