Geocache Description:

This is a regular cache but also part of the Desert Island Discs cache series.

Our family music is definitely John Denver. We didn’t listen to much of his later music but the old classic songs and albums were on a lot in our home. It’s probably the one artist that all seven of us could all agree on. My uncle Mark happened to live in Aspen and looks a lot like him so when I realized that he wasn’t John Denver it was kind of like learning the truth about Santa Claus. It was a very sad day in 1997 when John died in a tragic plane crash near Monterrey, also a special place to us and not far from our home. As a kid we listened to Grandma's Feather Bed constantly but as the years passed I realized that I loved all the songs.

Be sure to make a note of the song title written in the lid of the cache. It will be necessary if you plan on finding the series finale.

I discovered the trail while placing my Historic Rail-trail bridge cache. After fifty feet take the high road, after that you're on your own. I think I lost and found the trail about five times on the way there. It's almost exactly a mile to the cache from the trailhead. The biggest drawback to the hike is the road noise. If you can find a shorter way, be my guest, but it's awful steep straight from the frontage road.
