Nick of The Balloch Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Nick Of The Balloch lies on the B road between the village of Barr and Glentrool village and has a short walk uphill to ground zero!
Park at N55'12.076 W004'36.090 and follow the little arrow via one of the quad bike tracks uphill till you reach a small cairn with the cache nearby. Enjoy views south-east into the mighty awfull hand range with the Merrick at the furthest most point. To the north-west you can see one of the largest onshore wind farm in the UK at Hadyard hill.
Hadyard has 52 wind turbines capable of generating 120MW of power, my place of work by the way!
Please be aware that this is an open hillside and the weather can change quite quickly. Good stout boots should also be worn but the path is fairly dry if you stick to the quad track. Happy hunting!
