Your third lesson towards a
degree in Geocachology from Geocaching State University.
Great! Two A's - you're well on your way to a degree!. Keep it
going with the third of four caches at the Carolina WMA Campus of
Geocaching State University in Hope Valley, RI.
"GC301 - The Multi" takes the basic "A Longer Walk", and extends
the walk, and ups the difficulty by requiring you to find two
caches in order to get the "Smiley". The first cache is at the
posted coordinates, and is a smaller container. In a wooded
environment, this makes the first cache the harder of the two.
You've done well so far, so you shouldn't have any problems. Once
again, the walk is the thing. Take you time and enjoy your
surroundings.
Parking and trail head locations are left as an exercise for the
student. depending on where you start, expect a 2.5 to 3 mile round
trip. Please pay attention to "Posted" signs. Some of the trails,
while on WMA Property, abuts private property.
After completing GC301, sign up for "GC401 - The Puzzle"
Maps are available at the DEM Website. You should
let someone know where you are headed, and bring a cell phone. A
caching buddy is also a good idea. Please plan accordingly, and
wear appropriate clothing and shoes, and bring enough water and
food for the walk. An emergency card such a
this one is also a good idea.
