The Alpe d'Arena is located in the Valle di Vergeletto, a
tributary valley of the Valle Onsernone in Ticino. The alp can only
reached by hiking. The trip (one-way) takes about 1.5 - 4 hours,
depending on the starting point.

Wege
Nearby the cache is the 'Arena'
hut. The hut is open 365 days. The hut is self-served but fully
equipped (no food but: water, wc, 12v power, drinks, wine, beer,
spices, wood etc).
The Alp can be reached from Vergeletto (Postcar) by hiking. It goes
800m steeply up the mountain. Totally: 4 hours and 800m in
altitude.
From 'Zott' (Postcar) there ist a funicular to Alpe
Salei. From there the hike takes about 1.5 hours.
The most direct way is from Piano delle Cascine and takes about
1.5 - 2 hours with 600 metres in altitude.

Ganz in der Nähe ist die Hütte 'Arena'.
Die Hütte ist immer offen. Sie ist nicht bewartet aber trotzdem
voll ausgerüstet. Ausser Lebensmitteln ist alles vorhanden (Wasser,
WC, Strom 12V, Süssgetränke, Wein, Bier, Gewürze, Holz usw.). Es
lohnt sich, dort zu übernachten!
Die Alp kann von Vergeletto (Postauto) zu Fuss erreicht werden. Es
geht ca 4 Stunden lang steil den Berg hoch. Insgesamt 800
Höhenmeter .
Ab 'Zott' (Postauto) führt eine Seilbahn zur Alpe
Salei. Von dort dauert der fast flache Hinmarsch 1.5 Stunden
.
Der direkteste Weg führt ab Piano delle Cascine 1.5 - 2
Stunden den Berg hoch. Insgesamt ca. 600
Höhenmeter.
