O/K lets go find Geonana ... Uh-oh ... She's not where we
thought she would be!!!
Charly's found - now Geonana's lost!!!
This adventure in Ministik just gets better and better.
If you've looked at "GC11XDT - Lost Charly", then you know half of
the story of the faithful trip, that started on th... (oops
digressing to Gilligans Island ... sorry). Anyways, once we found
Charly and planted a cache to commemorate losing then finding her
and then making it to the firetower, we set out to reunite Charly
with Geonana. Well the cell coverage out here is terrible but we
did connect and thought we knew where we would find Geonana.
A few hundred (or maybe it was a thousand) meters down a decent
trail, we're looking for Geonana ... maybe just around the bend ...
she's waiting for us at the lake ... egad which lake as there are
probably 10 or 20 lakes / ponds in the area. Adding to our worry
was the fact that we had Geonana's GPSr as were following her prior
weeks track log so she was going to a location to meet us strictly
from memory!! Still no Nana ... we were all convinced that now
Geonana is lost ... and hey whats this thing in my backpack ...
another stocked cache ... what better way to commemorate (not that
we were celebrating losing Geonana - we knew we would find her ....
eventually) the occasion than with another cache?
We find a suitable hiding spot then continue meandering down the
trail and across frozen ponds / lakes and off in the distance we
see a dot ...could that be Geonana?? As we get closer, Charly
realizes her mama is near and she beelines (as fast as a small dog
with short legs can beeline in a foot of snow) to meet her - It was
a very happy reunion!
What a great hike this fine sunny day, finding all the caches in
the area and getting the opportunity to plant two more including
this one.
