Geocache Description:

*******COME ON OUT EARLY (8:30AM) WITH YOUR FAVORITE HOT DRINK AND WE WILL BE SUPPLYING THE DONUTS.********

Hello fellow cachers!

I believe we are lined up for a really fun and special event. This year we will be working with the City of Eugene and their STREAM TEAM. Our project will be located in the West Eugene area. We are going to be part of a project working along Amazon Creek, for the most part picking up garbage left over from winter's high waters. If time allows and enough people we may be working on some Scotch Broom removal as well. Our group will be assigned a specific area to target and other groups will be working at others areas along the Amazon Creek. Here are the essentials:

When: Saturday, April 28th

Time: 8:30AM-9AM Donuts and chat TB's, Coins, etc.

------9AM-12PM Wetlands Project

------12PM-1PM Lunch

------1PM GeoRaffle

------1:15 GO CACHING!!!!!

Where: Ask your GPS. (N44 03.134 W123 11.300)

Who: Anyone who wants to - kid friendly event

The project will last approximately 3 hrs. It is important that you arrive about 15 minutes prior to 9AM, to receive directions and supplies. Since we will be in the Wetlands, probably a good idea to bring boots, gloves and dress according to weather and environment we will be working in. The city will be providing all supplies...ie, trash bags, retrieval tools, etc. They will be training a couple of us to handle any needles we run across. They said we probably won't see them out there, but better to be safe than sorry. They will want only the people they train to retrieve them if spotted. With a group like we had last year we should be able to knock this job out in no time.

LUNCH.....ahhhh you probably saw that. This was a great surprise for me too. The city is so appreciative of our help on this that at noon they will be treating us to lunch at a nearby place they call the "Red House" (N44 03.001 W123 10.644) It will probably be your typical lunch, sandwiches, chips, salads, drinks etc. The gentleman I was working with says they will be giving out prizes for the most unique or interesting items found while out on the project. This should prove to be intriguing.

GeoRaffle - It will be a simple, no cost, raffle drawing (One ticket per GeoFamily) I have some fun prizes, a couple donated by Groundspeak, and some I have scrounged up. Anyone have anything to donate for a prize would be appreciated.

ALSO - WE WILL NEED PEOPLE PUTTING OUT SOME CACHES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO WHERE THE EVENT IS TAKING PLACE. SO GET YOUR MOST CREATIVE AND EVIL HIDES READY. LAST YEARS WERE INCREDIBLE! After all was over last year we all went group caching, that sure helped, especially on some of the evil hides.
