Bochum's reservoir, "Lake Kemnade" has become
the biggest recreation area in Bochum. It has a surface of 1,25
km2 and contains about 3.000.000 m3 water,
which mostly comes from the river Ruhr.
It's a paradise for inline skaters, bikers and
runners. You can go surfing, play midget golf, make a tour with a
pedal boat, the MS Kemnade or just relax at the several picknick
tables, meadows, snack bars and restaurants nearby.

This multi cache leads you all around the lake
and has a length of approximately 9 (!!) kilometers.
Although you can walk all the way, it is
intended, to do this cache on inline skates or by
bike. All waypoints, except the final location are next to
the path for inline skaters and pedestrians. So don't forget to
take along a pair of normal shoes in a backpack or in your
car, when you are doing this cache on inliners. Otherwise it will
be IMPOSSIBLE to reach the
final loaction.
Please notice, that inline skaters and
pedestrians use the path, which is located closer to the water.
Bikers use a different path somewhat aside of it.
The skate-tour around the lake takes about an
hour, caching excluded. So plan about 2 hours for this cache if you
are doing it on inline skates.

Parking and Waypoint 1
Park your car at N 51°26.300 / E 007°16.800 and go (or
skate or ride your bike
) to
N 51°26.275
E 007°16.717
Your a standing in front of two information boards about lake
Kemnade. Look for a small badge with the letters "MPGO" and a
number on it. You will find these small pieces of metal at every
waypoint. Each of it has a randomly chosen number on it, which is
needed to find the next waypoint.
The number that comes along with the first MPGO-badge will be
A! The coordinates for waypoint 2 are now:
N 51°25.(A - 430)
E 007°15.(A - 278)
Waypoint 2
Sit down and look on the backside! Take the handwritten number
you will find there as B! The next coordinates are:
N 51°24.((B - 366) * 2)
E 007°15.((B - 570) : 4)
Waypoint 3
Again you will find a MPGO-badge! The number will be C!
Go on to:
N 51°25.(C + 207)
E 007°16.((C * 2) - 281)
Waypoint 4
Guess what? Look for another MPGO-badge and the number D!
Now you have all the numbers needed for calculating the cache's
coordinates! Now get back to your car and get gressed in cacher's
clothes!
In order to get to back to parking lot and the cache, you have
to cross the river Ruhr. Use the "twin-ramp-gangway" at N 51°25.731
/ E 007°16.700 under the bridge of highway A 43 to reach the other
side.
