Geocache Description:

On this little piece of property was located the Bloomfield United Church, from 1874, until 1969. Across the intersection, the Orange Hall still stands, although abandoned and destroyed by age and vandalism. This site is a testimonial to those pioneers who hacked out the bush and made a lives for themselves in Near North Ontario. The faster transportation and newer roads bypassing such sites, has led to our loss of the quaint places that neighbours used gather. Many of the oldtimers I have spoken to around here remember fondly the church socials, the Saturday night dances, and the chameraderie of neighbours gathering here for just about every occasion. If you watch the skyline while driving Hwy 124 to get close to the site, you can make out the straighter, although more hilly path carved through the treeline that used to be the road before they "straightened" Hwy 124. This is a small cache, suitable for smaller trading items. I have started it by including an assortment of novelty key rings, hence the name.
