Otonabee: The “Gov” - By Land or Water Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Stabeez: This spot seems to be a place that won't hold onto a cache very long before it goes missing and it is too far to go to replace it so often. For these reasons, regretfully, I've archived it.

Geocache Description:

McKellar Park, straight forward, small, traditional cache

Please carry extra log sheets and replace as necessary.
This series of caches is located along the Otonabee River between Peterborough - Lansdowne Street Lock 19 and Rice Lake. They can all be accessed without using the lock system. Each cache location has car parking available nearby and a landing easily accessible by self propelled watercraft or smaller motor driven craft. They may not all be as friendly to larger motor driven craft. A nice drive by car, planned ahead of time to visit the whole series, will leave Peterborough’s Lansdowne St. at one end and return you in a large loop to the other end of Lansdowne St. The “Gov.” or Government dock once located here was a popular swimming area for kids cutting class. Now, McKellar Park is a nice little park for those same Baby Boomers to go for a stroll and let their kids enjoy the playground. This is a straight forward cache on the west bank. A canoe or kayak can land along the shore. Frequented by walkers and lunchtime visitors, stealth will be required. There are benches near an unsupervised sand beach. This is a large micro cache, extremely small trade items only.
