Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. They will get you close to the cache - but only if you are heading WEST on US 70.

I drive past this cemetary every day at least twice, to and from anywhere we go. I stopped in with Rampantbear today and we looked at the markers. As many as two dozen of them bear dates of those who saw two centuries, the 1800s and the 1900s. I've never met a Eluel or known a Minard but what names people had ... names with individuality. I bet Efferd was the only one in his neighborhood. And no one confused Dillie with any other child at school. We just don't name our children like we used to. As you peruse the markers in search of the information required to find the cache coordinates do take a moment to look at the other stones of soldiers, mothers, daughters and sons.

The cache is near the cemetery. It is not near any marker. While geocaching is a fun activity please show restraint at this cache and any others found in such a setting. To find this cache you will have to seek out specific grave markers throughout the cemetery and calculate based on dates. PLEASE be as respectful in your search and be mindful where you tread as you read the markers.

The coordinates are:

35 42.XYZ
78 37.ABC

XYZ = Eleven X Moses White's age + 3

ABC = Five X Pryor Roger's age + one.

Be sure to use the full date when calculating the coordinates.

This exercise is not meant to be maudlin or morbid. If the idea is offensive to you please do not attempt this cache. It has been placed with gentle care and warm thoughts for those who saw the bridge of the last two centuries as we have seen this one.

The difficulty is due in part to the search/calculation portion and partially due to the fact that the cover over the cache is so dense it is extremely difficult to get a good reading and your reading may vary as much as 3-4 points either way on either number. Horsegeeks' numbers were 2 points off mine on North and 1 point off on West (ie 250 and 251 are one point off). Hunt for it a while. Then call if you get frustrated - just give it an honest try in a wide circle from your GZ first!
