At the intersection of Hwy 160 and CO State 3 is a unique geologic area. This is the Carbon Junction trailhead. Take the left hand trail. Short walk up a faint trail, then a short steep scramble. Go up the bottom of the valley until your GPS points straight up the hill before you scramble up. OK....you've gone this far. Go to the top and check out the view. Walk gently! Watch the kids. Some cactus and loose rock. The top of the ridge turns to cliff kinda quick.
