Easy access from I81, a quick park and grab for travel bugs and smaller swag items. To reduce muggling, PLEASE DO NOT ENTER FROM THE AREA BETWEEN THE WOODS AND THE TENNIS COURTS.
Hank and Edie live with us. They are brother and sister American Bulldogs (see the photo.) We have given them tennis lessons, hoping that while we play they would stand ready to retrieve balls for us. NO SUCH LUCK! Instead, they much rather grab balls and bury them in the spot where this cache is placed! That’s how we first got the idea to put a cache next to Harrisonburg City’s Tennis Courts!
We also thought that a quick park and drop cache adjacent to I81 would be a useful addition to the travel bug network in the Shenandoah Valley. Even when the nearby Wal-Mart is busiest, it will not take more than three or four minutes to exit 81 and get to the City tennis courts where there is ample parking. Big Rig Geocaching drivers might find it difficult to park their trucks next to the tennis courts. There is a strip mall parking lot only a few hundred feet away (N38 26.581, W078 51.382).
The container is, hopefully, well camouflaged so that tennis players with terrible lob shots will not discover its location. To avoid bringing attention to you and the location of the cache, please be very careful when entering the woods where the cache is located. Also, please be sure to completely cover the cache with the ample camouflage located under the pine trees!
