Wairere Walkby (Waikato) Traditional Cache
Butterfly_Lady: Opening up this area for a local cacher to place a new cache. Hopefully more than a micro or throw down.
Great walkway that we have seen developed here..... from a muddy overflow to a great paved area.

DO NOT PARK ON THE NEAREST ROAD - There are safer places to access this cache. I suggest you look about 500m to the East for an entrance way.
A lovely walkway alongside the Kirikiriroa stream. A small weir nearby.
If you follow the walkway from Hukanui Rd, you will have the sense of being in resident's front yards. A wide concrete pathway is shared with cyclists. There are several other access points also.
Cache is NOT in a flax bush - please DO NOT replace in the adjacent flax bush..... against the boardwalk please.
Special Note: On 29 Oct 2023 a replacement cache was inserted, to replace reported wet box. Sadly we could not find the wet box, so there are probably two boxes here. If you find a wet soggy box, it is not the cache – read the hint and keep looking. Please put the soggy one with the new one, or take it away with you.
