Geocache Description:

Located near the new Buckaringa Lookout, but no where near as pretty as the old road through Buckaringa Gorge thanks to Earth Sancturies who have had the road closed.

The cache is a cammoed screwtop container with the usual treasure. It was placed on the occasion of Lois Hughes' 80th birthday with Lois present when the cache was set, so the grading of terrain is just because of the slightly remote location. Lois left Quorn in 1990 having lived there with her husband Max for 40 years with a family of five children. They ran the Holden dealership and Mobil service station, were members of St John Ambulance and Lions and many other community organisations. Lois was Matron of the Quorn Hospital for 10 years, overseeing the re-building works. They left for retirement at Victor Harbor and following the death of Max she relocated to a Retirement Village at Pasadena. Sadly Lois passed away in February 2022 at the age of 95.
