Just outside Wroughton lies the nature reserve Clouts Wood. This beautiful Wood lies between Wroughton and Wroughton Airfield. The wood is managed by coppicing, which creates sunny glades, ideal for woodland wildflowers such as the bluebell, which makes a stunning display in late April-May. There are trails throughout the wood, which is located on a slope. Recommended parking co-ordinates are N51 31.149 W001 48.310. Be careful crossing the main road to get to the public footpath. There is also another footpath 100yds further down the road, which leads you to the Northerly edge of the wood. There is a pleasant alternative route from the west of Clouts Wood, if you park near the entrance to the Science Museum, the footpath begins at N51 30.772 W001 48.753. This would be an ideal route when it's wet and muddy. Walking boots are recommended (particularly when wet). NB: The spoiler pictures in the gallery are for the original hide NOT the current site!
