This cache is located near the Kitsap County water treatment plant
on Bayview Road. The cache is NOT located on the plant property nor
is it near their fence line, so no need to venture that far.
Hopefully this one won't have you scratching your head or sniffing
the air for too long!
You will be able to see and SMELL the plant from the cache
location. This is funny only because when the plant was proposed
they promised the nearby homes, and the town, that there would not
be the dreaded sewer smell. Years ago we lived on the hill just
above this location and let's just say those people lied! After
all, it is a sewer plant! This tree area use to run along the old
Bayview Road. The road was replaced long ago when the treatment
plant was built. You can still see where the old road was and what
remains of it that was not torn up. There is a long pull off on the
side of the road for parking. Let your signal settle a bit, the
tree cover may get in it's way in a few spots. Due to the tree
cover you may get about a 30ft. jump in either direction. You will
get the best results by walking down the middle of the roadway.
There is very little, to no, traffic on the road on most days so
this should not be a problem. Have fun and Happy Caching!
