Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Solar System Drive, a scale model of our solar system in Country NSW, 38 million times smaller than the real size. The caches are designed to be family friendly.

Officially it is called “The World’s Largest Virtual Solar System Drive”.
This model has only just been completed.
Where possible the caches are a regular size made from painted PVC plumbing fittings.
Each cache is titled “Venus by Bluedog” etc.

We have placed a series of traditional caches at the sun and some of the sites of the planets.
We chose to do the planets on the southern edge of the model as they are the closest to home to maintain.
At each location there is a large sign which contain a scale model of the particular planet and related information.

Here is the complete listing of planet locations and the ones at which we have placed a cache.

You could spend the best part of a day to do the caches we have placed in one trip
or take a few more days and do all of the planet locations.

Earth – between the Observatory and Coonabarabran – 4th Team Bluedog cache location - GC120H5. The Scale model of the Earth is missing from this one.

Mars – between the Observatory and Coonabarabran – 5th Team Bluedog cache location – GC120H8

Jupiter – between the Observatory and Coonabarabran – 6th Team Bluedog cache location – GC120HA

Saturn – North East of Coonabarabran – no cache
Saturn – South East of Coonabarabran – no cache
Saturn – South West of Coonabarabran – 7th Team Bluedog cache location – GC120HF. Sign is missing here. May relocate to one of the others.
