On the southernmost shore of beautiful Canyon Lake. Starting point is Village Boat Dock #1
N29:51.017 W98:12.463. If you proceed by foot, it is a rugged hike requiring good shoes . Because of it's proximity to the waters edge, this is a great cache for those with canoes or kayaks.
In the vacinity of the cache is an excellent fossil bed containing several forms of ancient sea life!
The cache is a round plastic container that has log book, and some interesting "historical" artifacts pertaining to the Great Flood of '02. It is in a rock overhang about 20ft above the water (Canyon Lake floods periodically) next to a dead Cedar tree.
If you go by watercraft take time to explore the shoreline over to the dam.
If you hike, take a trash bag with you to pick up beer cans on the first part of the walk near the boat ramp.
