Nice easy find, with a great view. "Who was Durant?" I hear you ask, well nobody can tell me.Not even the local Tourist Info Centre.
Since adopting this cache I have undertaken a bit of research into the naming of the lookout. Thomas Douglas Durant (known as Douglas) was born in New Zealand in 1890 and emigrated to the Wimmera area of Victoria with his parents in 1905. He joined the 13th Light Horse, 1st AIF in 1915 and saw service at Gallipoli. He came to Millicent in 1938 as a export lamb buyer for Borthwick & sons and settled in Beachport about 1941. He served as President of the Beachport RSL and also was a district assessor for the Beachport council. Thomas Douglas Durant died on 6th September 1975.
