“OHIO SPIRIT QUEST”
The Ohio Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Buckeye Pioneers. This series is inspired by and a continuation of the Indiana Spirit Quest caches created by Six Dog Team. In just over three years, the SPIRIT QUEST has grown to over 550 caches, with the hiding teams growing as well. The Ohio Spirit Quest has begun to grow with eleven current hides in one Northwest Ohio county, with four current caching teams, three each with A Man and His Dog... and one with A Woman and her Dog. Over 1,000 cachers have logged over 20,000 finds. One cache machine found 111 ISQ caches in a single day (daylight hours only). PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF POSTED CEMETERY HOURS, TYPICALLY DAWN TO DUSK. ANY FIND LOGS INDICATING NIGHT CACHING WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTICE.
Come with us now for a virtual tour of this old burial ground via this page, then go out and find the cache!

OHIO SPIRIT QUEST #011
”Grandma's Over the Hill"
This is our eleventh hide across the border in Ohio. Listen to what TMA has to say:
Welcome to West Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson Township, Williams County, Ohio.
This is a quiet cemetery, tucked off US15 in West Jefferson, Ohio. It is located adjacent to the Enrichment center, so watch for onlookers.
This cemetery is set up on a hill, on the north side of West Jeff. You can get a nice view of the Township from here. Quite a few beautiful headstones can be found in each of the rows.
A notable person buried here would be Susanna H. Brown (Tressler) in 1858. She was married to a shoemaker/farmer, Elias H. Brown of Schuylkill, PA. Several of her children are also buried here, including Delilah, Zachrias, Andrew, and Isabella.
Now, a personal note. From this hill, and the drive to the cemetery from the north, you can see west down County Road K. This is where I spent my summers every year, at my grandmothers house. She passed away this year, but you can stand here, and see her house, and I can remember those days.
There might be an FTF Geocoin involved, I forget :) TMA

Various Headstones
The cache container is a camo'd film can. -- BYOP. Single space off road north of the cemetery for parking. If you find a fallen US flag, please stick it back in the ground. As always, please be respectful, and cache in, trash out. Pray for our Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, CoastGuardsmen and Airmen in harm's way. All photos by -Eleanor-.
