Jøtlemannjen Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

Geocaches which have not been maintained or the owner has not responded will not be taken out of the archive

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

Just above E 39 at Eide (just outside Sandane) you will find a seven meter tall stone laying against a hill/cave. According to old legends this is a troll who was sleeping outside while he was herding his animals. One morning the troll woke up too late, and he ran for his cave to get away from the sun. But he was too late and the sun shined on him and he was transformed to a stone. Since then this stone has been called "Jøtlemannjen". There is a path you can follow from E 39 to this attraction.

The cache lays nearby the cave and "Jøtlemannjen". It is a small icebox (1 liter) and contains a notebook. Original content is: a car and a train.
