Cache is within the Village of Lake George Recreational Center which includes a trail system used for X country skiing and snowshoeing. Also softball and soccer fields. Large parking area with a lake view is at N43 24.077,W073 43.948. Follow Rt 9N SW .5 mi. from I87 exit 21 to Transfer Rd. and follow signs. A trail map is located here and will indicate Mohican Ridge. Trails are wide and easy to follow but not always signed by name.
Trail system is a series of poorly signed loops, any will work. Map at parking lot NOT totally accurate. HINT-towards cache go uphill. To return to parking lot go downhill to brook. I would recomend enjoying as many of the trails as possible, especially along Gage Brook and the water falls. Total of outer most loop is about 2 mi. Three other caches are located in the park so why not take a few hours and hit a quad? This cache is a 30 cal. ammo box located about 100' from trail at 1000' elevation. Bushwacking is required at this point. Items in cache are all decent so please don't leave McCrap and junk...Trade even or up!! Thanks
