Geocache Description:

IPHITHI ~ Meaning Blue Duiker. Park at S 29 47 451 ~ E 030 48 020

THIS IS THE OLD IPHITHI FOREST CACHE AT A NEW LOCATION:This is n lovely 15 ha reserve comprising of Forest, Grassland, Wetland, and a small dam surrounded by homes. Other additions to this reserve is nice paths, picnic area’s, benches, sundeck and a wooden walkway across the wetland area. The committee is also working on a Paraplegic and frail person friendly path for the nearby future. The reserve is solely depending on donations. The area use to be invested by Blue gum trees. See additional photo’s of before, during and after felling. Thanks to the initiative of some local residence an estimate off 1000 tons of Blue -gums has been removed from this area. For the last 7 years it has been an ongoing battle eradicating aliens from the reserve. This is a lovely spot, where you can enjoy the day out with the whole family, even your dogs {On leash of course}. Anyone interested in donating, can e-mail me and I will put you on to the Chairman of the area. In this lovely gem you will find some nunu’s , Birdlife , Trees , Shrubs, Flowers, and animals like Water mongoose, Spotted genet and maybe even the Iphithi Buck (Blue duiker).
